Privacy policy

BRICK is a small UK business. We try to collect as little of your data as we can while still running an online shop. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

When you place an order: your name, email, billing address, shipping address, and the items ordered. Payment information is handled by Shopify Payments and PayPal directly. We do not see your full card number.

When you browse: standard web analytics including pages viewed, time on site, and approximate location based on IP. We use Shopify's built-in analytics. We do not run third-party tracking beyond what Shopify provides for fraud prevention and shop performance.

When you sign up to our newsletter: your email address.

What we do with it

Process your order. Send you order confirmations and shipping updates. Reply to your support questions. Send you the newsletter if you signed up for it.

We use the data to make the shop run. We do not sell your data, do not share it with third parties for marketing, and do not give it to data brokers.

Who we share it with

Shopify (our hosting platform). Royal Mail and our shipping couriers (for delivery). PayPal and Shopify Payments (for payment processing). Klaviyo if you signed up for the newsletter (for sending emails). HMRC if legally required.

That is the entire list.

How long we keep it

Order records: seven years for HMRC compliance.

Newsletter signups: until you unsubscribe.

Web analytics: per Shopify's retention policy, typically 13 months.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You can request a copy of the data we hold on you. You can ask us to correct it. You can ask us to delete it (subject to legal retention requirements for orders). Email hello at brickphone dot uk for any of the above.

Cookies

We use the minimum necessary cookies for the shop to function (cart, session, checkout). Shopify analytics cookies for understanding traffic. No advertising cookies. No third-party tracking pixels.
